Tips: Constipation
To subscribe to Carol's quarterly
tips newsletter, please enter your

on the homepage.
Constipation should be reported to
your physician as it can be related
to a serious condition. This is
especially important if there is any
blood in the stool, a significant or
prolonged change in bowel habits
occurs, or you have a history of any
bowel disease or disorder.
Constipation generally responds well
to an increase in fluid consumption,
exercise, and fiber in the diet.
Water is important to help flush
waste out of your system, exercise
stimulates the excretion process,
and fiber helps by adding bulk to
the diet and removing waste from the
digestive tract.
